Reference Cells
Reference Cells
The Solar Reference cell from PET is designed for calibrating the irradiance of the solar simulators used for testing solar cells or panels. They can also be used (with supporting equipment) to measure the temporal stability and/or non-uniformity of the light beam of solar simulators.
REFERENCE CELL MODEL # 60909
Reference cell is used for measuring and setting the intensity of solar simulators for one sun (or other user desired) intensity condition. They are also used to calibrate the IV Measurement system photo-detector intensity to match the measured ISC to calibrated ISC.

SHUNTED REFERENCE CELL MODEL #60649
Shunted Reference cell is used for measuring and setting the intensity of solar simulators for one sun (or other user desired) intensity condition. They can also be used (with supporting equipment) to measure the temporal stability and/or non-uniformity of the light beam of solar simulator.
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
- Rugged aluminum black anodized enclosure for stability.
- 20mm x 20mm Silicon solar cell.
- BK7 Window.
- Mounting hole pattern (62mm x 62mm) compatible with WPVS reference cell design.
- Shunted inside the body with an appropriate size resistor, thus giving an output voltage usually between 50mV to 60mV for an irradiance of 1,000W/m2.
- Cable length one (1) meter with Banana Plug to connect directly to a Digital Volt Meter.
OPTIONS
- Quartz window instead of BK7.
- Custom cells incorporating special cells from customer, thus assuring a much better match between reference cells and production cells. This also helps in minimizing spectral response mismatch or errors.
- RTD temperature sensor.
- Cable termination of customer’s choice.
- Different size solar cell or aperture placed over solar cell.
